Chilean artist Paula Tape has been making her marks as a DJ and producer already for a decade. She has a distinct style as a DJ, playing percussion-driven and polyrhythmic electronic music, and blending underground floor-fillers with house and other styles. Her love for polyrhythms was sparked by playing drums for indie bands already in the early 2000s, and her career as an electronic music producer began with her EP Aqua Congas, released in 2018 and gaining significant support from key selectors. Her latest EP Acid Latino came out in November 2024, showing her current skills as a producer. Recently Paula Tape has also contributed a BBC 1 Essential Mix and been busy playing gigs around the world. In 2023 she was selected as a BBC Radio 1 resident, as the first Chilean-born artist in the residency.
