NYKY Ensemble is a contemporary music ensemble founded in 2009 at the Sibelius Academy of the Arts. It is a forum for contemporary music projects, offering perspectives on contemporary art music trends and techniques. The ensemble&#8217;s composition depends on the works performed, and the guest conductor for each concert period is a musician or ensemble specialising in contemporary music. For Flow Festival 2024, NYKY Ensemble has prepared a program of electro-acoustic works by Kaija Saariaho, who passed away last year, under the direction of cellist Anssi Karttunen. Karttunen worked closely with Saariaho and has premiered several of her works.
