FontainesD.C.
Fontaines D.C. has rapidly become one of the most significant new names in indie rock and post-punk. Originally from Dublin and now based in London, the band released their fourth album, ROMANCE, in August 2024 to record-breaking success and critical acclaim. The album sold over twice as many copies during its release week as their 2022 hit album Skinty Fia and earned five-star reviews from outlets such as Rolling Stone UK and NME. Even Elton John declared the band “the very best right now.”
Fontaines D.C.’s achievements go beyond chart success. Their debut album, Dogrel (2019), was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize, while their sophomore effort, A Hero’s Death (2020), earned their first Grammy nomination for “Best Rock Album.” The third album, Skinty Fia, cemented their status internationally, winning the Brit Award for “Best International Group.” Most recently, ROMANCE claimed the “Album of the Year” award at the Rolling Stone UK Awards and secured two Grammy nominations for the 2025 ceremony.
Fontaines D.C.’s music blends post-punk, grunge, shoegaze, and contemporary electronic soundscapes. Produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, ROMANCE explores themes of love, alienation, and identity.
In August 2025, alongside their performance at Flow Festival, Fontaines D.C. will play the biggest shows of their career: a 45,000-capacity concert at London’s Finsbury Park and a 26,000-capacity show at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park. This band shows no signs of slowing down – they continue to push boundaries and define the future of rock music.
