Lil Tony a.k.a. Toni Rantanen is the driving force in Helsinki nightlife, known for running the Sörnäinen club complex consisting of Kaiku, Kuudes Linja and Siltanen, as well as the warehouse venue Ääniwalli. Also a co-owner and programmer of Flow Festival, Rantanen still has the same dedication and enthusiasm for his work as 30 years ago. His journey as a DJ began in 1989, and since his 1990s clubs Kerma and Soda he has been passionate about sound systems, interior design and improving the Finnish electronic music scene in general. His club concepts such as Darkroom and VUM Open Air are flourishing year after year.
Lil Tony has a long DJ experience from different clubs worldwide, and last year he played in Tokyo and Rio De Janeiro. A record collector for more than 30 years, he enjoys playing sets of house and techno influenced by the Detroit and Chicago records of his early warehouse days, as well as doing musical excursions that feature disco, soul and electronic sounds from all across the board, always looking for new discoveries. His music has been released by labels such as Innervisions, Running Back, Versatile and Guidance, and there is more coming soon.
